1) How to Play Six Card Golf
The 52 cards standard deck is required.
2 to 4 players can play this game. For more than 4 players additional deck is required.
The Object of The Game
The objective of the game is to score the lowest points by either replacing high-value cards with lesser value cards or matching the cards of the same column.
Dealing The Cards
There are no rules for the selection of the dealer. So, a random player deals six cards to each player face-down. After dealing the cards, the player places the remaining cards on the table face-down in a pile. This is the “Stock Pile”. After that, the player turns up the top card from the stockpile and places it beside the stockpile face-up to start the “Discard Pile”.
Making the Set-up
Each player makes a set-up in front of himself/herself by placing the six cards face down in 2 rows and 3 columns. The set-up should look like this:
The player on the left of the dealer takes first turn by drawing the top card from the stockpile or Discard pile. The players take turns in a clockwise manner. After drawing the card, the player can replace it with his/her own cards of the set-up, if the player can reduce his/her points by doing the same. The replaced card is discarded to the discard pile.
A player can replace a face-down card with a face-up card. The round ends when one of the players has all his/her cards face-up. All other players get one more turn to replace their cards. After the last turn, the remaining face-down cards are turned up.
|King (K)||0 Points|
|Queen (Q), Jack (J)||10 Points|
